We thought this small hotel was lovely, perfectly situated and a great value. It's only a 15-20 minute walk to the Fontana di Trevi and the Pantheon. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops right outside the door. The hotel location is excellent - about a block from the Spanish Steps and in the heart of an upscale shopping area near the Via Condotti. The noise did not bother us but those looking for something more quiet may want to ask for an inner room away from the street.
Our room on the 2nd floor faced a bustling street so loud chattering and honking cars could be heard but dies down as it gets later. The room was simple, modern, very clean and the hotel staff was helpful and super friendly. She was comfortable and had no complaints. There are only 9 rooms-lobby is small but there's a lounge on the second floor (free tea/coffee pods available.) We had a large room and requested a rollaway bed for our teen daughter. because exploring Rome left me with more snapshots of excellent views that I could ever hope for. Was I OK to sacrifice views in this stellar hotel? Yes. which was fine because it offered privacy from the building across the street. And if I had to find any criticism is that's the room offered no view as we were on the second floor and our windows were blocked by some plants. Now, all that to say, no place is perfect. Staff at the hotel couldn't be more friendly and helpful when looking for location recommendations. Want a spacious shower with strong water pressure and a multitude of jets? This place has it. It's not often in Rome hotels you can find affordable accommodations with a full king size bed thats comfortable.
The best parts, in no particular order: - The Bed. Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you, this hotel is first class quality all the way. We spent two nights at Mario de' Fiori and it was a fantastic choice.
